Deep Breath Tips

Here's some tips for Deep Breath. You may wish to discover these on your own - or not!

How the game works:

  • Enemies won't intentionally attack you unless provoked but you may get caught in the crossfire.
  • There are 8 levels. Each one has at least one locked exit plus possibly unlocked ones.
  • The Deep Breath ability restores a % of your max bubbles until full. Then it gives bonus bubbles.
  • Deep Breath takes a turn to use, but other abilities do not take a turn.
  • You lose 1/2 a bubble per turn in deep water and recover 1 bubble per turn otherwise.
  • Once totally out of bubbles, you lose 1 max bubble per turn in deep water.
  • Pearls are a currency to let you buy upgrades.
  • Each snakefruit gives you one max bubble.

Tips:

  • Conserve your time wisely. The ship is sinking fast.
  • Prioritize goals in this order: finding exits, keys, snakefruit, then pearls
  • If an enemy is blocking you, you might be able to wait (Deep Breath) until they move out of the way
  • Before an extended trip into deep water, first max out your bubbles + bonus bubbles with Deep Breath
  • Since abilities don't take turns, you can use them to move into threatened tiles.
  • Use your abilities as often as possible! It saves time.

Monster abilities:

Crew

  • Pirate: has a long range attack that passes through enemies
  • Swashbuckler: attacks neighboring tiles to their front, left, and right
  • Cannon man: attacks like the Pirate but with a longer cooldown and creates holes in the ship
  • Chef: throws a few plates into random tiles

Sea Monsters

  • Siren: stuns adjacent enemies
  • Shark: moves randomly but very fast. Attacks constantly in 4 cardinal directions
  • Crab: moves two tiles per turn and attacks with its pincers
  • Mermaid: attacks 2 tiles in the direction of an enemy
  • Kraken: attacks up to 8 nearby tiles
  • Eel: attacks every tile within a 2 tile radius

Enjoy!
